OREANDA-NEWS. The vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, developed by the N. F. Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, may enter civilian circulation in mid-August.

This was announced on July 13 by the Director Alexander Gintsburg. “The vaccine can go into civilian circulation on August 12–14, in mid-August,” he said. In the near future, the drug is unlikely to be bought in pharmacies, the head of the Institute added. “I hope that the state will purchase it all and distribute… to medical facilities. And the medical institutions within the framework of… vaccination calendar… will vaccinate all people, I hope, for free, at the expense of budget money,” Gintsburg explained.

On July 10, it was reported that the Ministry of Defense experts and scientists from the Gamaleya Institute began the final stage of clinical trials of the vaccine against the new type of coronavirus.
