OREANDA-NEWS. Interfax news agency, citing the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, reports that large armed groups of terrorists in the Syrian governorate of Idlib did not agree with the Russian-Turkish agreements on the introduction of a ceasefire.

“The militants of the terrorist groups took advantage of the respite, healed themselves, reequipped, thanks to external support, and now they are taking counter-offensive actions,” the department said. According to it, representatives of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Khurras al-Din, who adhere to the ideological principles and methods of Al-Qaeda (all groups are banned in Russia), are concentrated in the Idlib de-escalation zone. It is also added that there are many members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant among the jihadists, including those who were “evacuated through security corridors from other regions of Syria.”
