OREANDA-NEWS. The leader of the Just Russia faction in the State Duma, Sergei Mironov, commenting on the tragedy in Kazan, proposed returning the death penalty for deliberate murdering children to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Earlier today, on May 11, with reference to emergency services, it was reported that children were being evacuated from a school in Kazan, where unknown persons opened fire and where later an explosion occurred. According to unofficial data, 11 people died, four were hospitalized. The press service of the head of Tatarstan RIA Novosti reported that eight people were killed - seven children and a teacher, another 20 were injured. The head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, said that a 19-year-old boy had organized the shooting in the Kazan school, and the weapon was officially registered for him.

Mironov told reporters on Tuesday: "We believe that the death penalty should be returned for the murder of children. Because these are already grown-up idiots ... He knows very well that he will live. He will be in prison ... If there is the death penalty, I think that many would have thought a little before taking up arms and going to kill their classmates. "
