OREANDA-NEWS Russian Post and VTB agreed to build a nearly 40 logistics centers on the territory of the Russian Federation. This information was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the postal operator.

As specified, within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, the parties signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture on a parity basis.

"Under the terms of the agreement, the parties created joint-stock company "National Logistic Technologies" with the purpose of  creation of 38 logistics centers across the country", — stated in the message.

As informed, the amount of investment of each participant of the project will be 10.19 billion rubles for three years. Financing of the construction of the centers will be carried out through contributions to the authorized capital of the joint venture. At the same time, there will be an issue of shares in favor of each party. Total area of logistics centers will exceed 400 thousand square meters.

"For the preservation and development of the market position of "Russian Post" requires the creation of digital logistics ecosystem. It will include modern sorting centers, warehouses for processing orders, modern information solutions," commented Nikolay Podguzov, General Director of Russian post.

The infrastructure is created to serve the needs of both Russian and foreign participants in the distance trading market. The launch of logistics centers will ensure the delivery of goods to the population the next day after ordering goods online in all major cities of the country and every other day in regional centers, "Russian Post".

The first level of the terminal consists of seven logistics hubs in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-don, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk, which are located at airports or close to them. Hubs will be provided with a high degree of automation of processes. They will be able to perform both import and export operations for sending parcels and sending goods on customer orders through Russian online stores from specially designated warehouse zones.

The second level of the terminals include ten centers. They will be located in cities with a population of more than 1 million people and will have an automated sorting of parcels and storage areas for storage and processing of orders.

The third level of terminals from 21 centers will provide service for the delivery of online orders in cities and regions with a population of more than 500 thousand people.

As reported after the signing of the contract N. Podguzov, the main hub for the far Eastern Federal district will be in Khabarovsk, investments in its construction will amount to about 3 billion rubles.

"But also in Vladivostok, a second-level hub will be created. It will serve the flow of Japanese and Chinese goods for the entire far East region," he said.
