OREANDA-NEWS. The combat readiness of the Serbian army has significantly strengthened thanks to the military and technical cooperation of Belgrade and Moscow. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, in an interview with the Russian news agency TASS.

“Only in 2019 we conducted 96 joint exercises. […] Our fighter aircrafts are again able to protect our sky, and the modern air defense systems, the complexes Pantsir-S1, made our air defense much more powerful. We purchased the most modern combat helicopters Mi-35 and transport helicopters Mi-17. The delivery of BRDM-2 [The amphibious armoured patrol cars. – Ed.] strengthened our ground forces,” the Minister clarified. “We look forward to continued successful cooperation in this area,” he added.

Vulin also noted Russian support in the combat against the pandemic in Serbia. “The help we received from the Russian Federation during the fight against coronavirus was of great value. The help came at the moment when it was most needed, and was what we lacked at that time. […] All that you needed yourselves at that time you gave to us. We will never forget it,” the head of the Defense Ministry said.
