OREANDA-NEWS Rosfinmonitoring has included the son of the ex-judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya, Saydi Yangulbayev Ibrahim, in the list of persons and organizations involved in extremist activities or terror. The corresponding entry appeared in the list of the service on March 3. Inclusion in this list entails freezing of funds and suspension of banking services.

Earlier, Ibrahim Yangulbayev was put on the federal wanted list in connection with the initiation of a criminal case against him under the article on terrorist activities.

In January 2021, it was reported that Chechen security forces detained Saidi Yangulbayev's wife Zarema Musayeva in Nizhny Novgorod. According to media reports, a diabetic woman was taken to Chechnya for questioning. In early February, Musayeva was arrested on suspicion of using violence against a government official.

Later, another son of Yangulbayev, lawyer Abubakar, as well as a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of Russia Igor Kalyapin criticized the actions of the Chechen authorities.

The head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov, in turn, declared the legality of the actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and accused of terrorism not only the Yangulbayev family, but also Kalyapin, as well as the journalist of Novaya Gazeta Elena Milashina.

On February 2, an unauthorized rally of thousands gathered on the main square of Grozny, the participants of which burned posters with photos of Saidi Yangulbayev's family members and shouted curses at them. At the same time, Adam Delimkhanov, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, made threats against the family.

Later, the Board of Judges of Chechnya deprived Yangulbayev of the status of a retired judge for non-compliance with the requirements of the status — after that he lost his personal inviolability.
