OREANDA-NEWS. The development and implementation of a new method for detecting submarines - on the trail that remains in the water from the work of their screws, began scientists Krylovsky State Scientific Center (KGNTS).  This was told at the International Naval Salon in St. Petersburg by Valery Polovinkin, scientific director of the KSCC.

Physical fields are called properties of the ship, as a material object, which can be measured using external devices.  Physical include electric, acoustic, magnetic and some other fields, which can be used to detect a submarine or a ship.  One of the tasks in the development of ships is to reduce the intensity of physical fields.

Now KGNTS is engaged in the whole spectrum of submarine detection systems.  However, as Polovinkin notes, this work is quite serious and requires lengthy developments.  It is necessary to take into account modern developments in the construction of submarines, as well as many other factors such as the material of manufacture of the boat, vibro-acoustic characteristics and much more.

“Unfortunately, there is no reason to talk about the details of this program, which was approved with the release of funds, for obvious reasons,” said Polovinkin.
