The Area of Forest Fires in Siberia Began to Decline

OREANDA-NEWS In Siberia and the Far East, the area of forest fires that were actively extinguished by rescuers decreased by 6%, to 266.4 thousand hectares. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Aviation Protection.
On August 12, rescuers eliminated 49 forest fires with a total area of 5,998 hectares. Currently there are 159 fires. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the area of active combustion is 135.5 thousand hectares, and in the Irkutsk Region - 121.6 thousand hectares.
Not so long ago Forest Security Service reported that 202 fires were recorded on the territory of Russia on an area of 283.167 thousand hectares, which were used to extinguish. At the same time, a total of 301 fires were recorded on the territory of the country on an area of 2.743 million hectares, which they stopped extinguishing by decision of regional commissions.
