OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Transport, Rosavtodor and the state-owned Avtodor company are discussing the construction of a new free high-speed highway that will connect Krasnodar with the Crimean bridge.  The representative of the Ministry of Transport confirmed this information.

Now two roads lead from Krasnodar to Crimea: one of them is through Krymsk and Dzhiginka, the second and the main one, A-289, 150 km long, goes from Krasnodar to Slavyansk-on-Kuban and the city of Temryuk.  Traffic on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge is growing (about 36,000 cars per day), and long-distance approaches to the bridge cannot cope with the flow of cars.  In summer, traffic almost stops due to traffic jams.  Traffic jams occur along almost the entire route, especially in the area of cities, and objects of road service are very rare on the tracks.

The new road should pass south of A-289 - almost from Temryuk to another future route, the Far Western bypass of Krasnodar.  It is planned to build 128 km of a new road.  They are going to complete the work in 2022.
