OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian government has organized significant distortions of market mechanisms in the economy. This means the possibility of introducing anti-dumping duties on goods from Russia in the EU. This follows from a report from the European Commission published on October 23.

The document has been prepared to implement EU trade protection procedures. It examines the macroeconomics of the Russian Federation, the main pricing factors, including factors at the labour and energy markets, as well as a number of sectors of the economy, such as production of steel, aluminum and chemicals. The authors record significant distortions of the economy organized by the Russian government, the report says.

In fact, the document can become a legal basis for anti-dumping investigations against Russia in the future, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, explained.
