OREANDA-NEWS The first phase of the programme of professional training for the international WorldSkills standards for the citizens of preretirement age will start in Russia. This was reported in the press service of the Union "Young professionals (WorldSkills Russia)".

"On March 18, Russia will launch the first stage of a special program of vocational training and additional professional education of citizens of pre-retirement age according to international standards of WorldSkills. Unusual students will sit at the desks of colleges and technical schools today - people of the older generation who made a non - trivial decision at their age - to master the skills that are in demand and promising in the labor market," the press service noted.

At the first stage, more than 400 participants were given a choice of 39 programs for 27 competencies, but in April the list of competencies will be expanded to 116. The program is free for Russians and is designed for the period up to 2024, each student will be able to be trained once for the entire period of its implementation. "The main stage will start on April 5, 2019, when registration will be opened on a special website of the program," the press service added.

The senior citizens training program is implemented within the framework of the Federal project "Senior generation" of the national project "Demography". Nine cities of seven regions of Russia take part in the pilot stage: Kazan, Veliky Novgorod, Borovichi, Tyumen, Tobolsk, Reutov, Yekaterinburg, Tomsk and Moscow. By the end of 2019, 25 thousand Russians of pre-retirement age from all regions of the country will be trained according to WorldSkills international standards. Those who wish to apply for an educational program will be able to choose a convenient training schedule for them - on the job or on the job.

"At the end of the study, each participant, in addition to the document on training, will additionally receive a "skills Passport" - a certificate of professional skills of a person," the press service concluded.
