OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Alexander Grushko said that the Russian Federation has a wide range of military-technical tools to ensure its security. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

He recalled the broad choice of the Russian Federation of tools in case the dialogue with NATO about Russia's legitimate concerns, including about the non-expansion of the alliance, does not bring any results.

At the same time, Grushko warned that it is too early to discuss progress on the issue of security guarantees.

“If we talk about a fundamental choice, then the situation is more or less clear. The point is that either we are following the path of eliminating Russia's legitimate concerns related to the military activities of the alliance, its expansion, or we will have to choose other ways to ensure our national security, ”said the deputy head of the department.

He also did not specify what kind of tools that the Russian Federation can use, they were talking about.

Earlier it was reported that the European Union requires participation in the negotiations of Russia with the United States and NATO.

Talks between Russia and the United States on security issues are scheduled for January 10, with a meeting with NATO officials on January 12, and the next day with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
