Currently in Russia in several industries there are voluntary experiments on the labeling of goods, the operator of which is the center for the development of advanced technologies (CRPT). It is 50% owned by USM Holdings Alisher Usmanov, 25% — "Rostec" and another 25% — managing partner of Almaz Capital Partners Alexander Galitsky. According to the new concept, the system will receive the status of the state information system (GIS).

According to the Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, the CRPT will eventually begin marking all product groups.

Now the CRPT marks tobacco and shoes, will soon begin to mark drugs. Since 2019, 12 more categories of goods will be connected to the system. The system will be fully operational by 2024. The cost of marking one product - 0,5 rubles.
