OREANDA-NEWS The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev announced the results of a joint operation between Russia and CIS partners to curb the activities of a large international drug crew.

"Recently, a joint operation was carried out by law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the Russian Post security department. As a result, the activities of a transnational criminal group that organized the production and distribution of synthetic drugs on an especially large scale in Russia, as well as in countries of Central Asia", Kolokoltsev said at a meeting of the State Anti-Drug Committee. The words of the minister are quoted by the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Kolokoltsev said that as a result of the operation, eight clandestine drug laboratories were liquidated, 600 liters of precursors and about 30 kilograms of narcotic drugs were seized. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the cost of the drug exceeds 280 million rubles at black market prices.

"The organizer and members of the drug crew have been detained, an investigation is underway", Kolokoltsev added. The press center of the department reported that "a resident of the Omsk region equipped a laboratory for the production of prohibited substances in his own house".

"The joint special operation continued for six months. As a result of coordinated actions, clandestine laboratories were liquidated on the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Their productivity was up to 200 kg of drugs per month", the ministry said. More than 20 members of the group were detained in the course of operational-search activities in Russia and on the territory of foreign states.
