OREANDA-NEWS Moscow and Minsk are discussing various options for interaction on the topic of import substitution, in particular financial, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Thus, he reacted to the statement of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who said that Russia plans to allocate $1.5 billion for Minsk's participation in the import substitution program, RIA Novosti reports.

Various options for interaction within the framework of the Union State, including financial interaction, are being discussed. These issues are all under discussion," Peskov said.

The day before, Lukashenka said that they would continue to choke Russia with sanctions, and at the same time Belarus, so that Moscow would not be able to bypass restrictions through Minsk. He also noted that the initiators of sanctions against Russia and Belarus from the European Union have already “shooted themselves in the head”, because restrictions harm primarily those countries that impose them.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov announced a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Lukashenka. The meeting will take place "soon." He recalled that this year the allied countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
