The Ministry of Internal Affairs Reported about Millions of Illegal Migrants in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS On the territory of Russia there are about two million illegal migrants, journalists report with reference to the acting head of the migration Central Board of the interior Ministry Valentina Kazakova.
"If we talk about the figures on illegal migration, which is present today, it is about 2 million foreign citizens, but our records, which operate in the interior Ministry, allow us to track illegal migrants up to the subject where they are," Kazakova explained.
She added that during 2018, 17 million foreign citizens entered the territory of the Russian Federation, to date, about 10 million foreigners are in the country. According to Kazakova, during the last World Cup there was no surge in the number of migration violations.
She added that if a foreigner violates the 90-day period of stay in Russia and does not issue permits, the entry into the country is closed for a period of three to 10 years.
In September, it was reported that the government proposed to reduce the number of builders-guest workers: they will be able to make up a maximum of 80 percent of the total number of employees of enterprises. It is expected that part of the vacant seats will be taken by the Russians.
According to analysts from the center for strategic development (CSR), the flow of labor migrants from the CIS to Russia since 2015 is constantly decreasing, legal workers became half that in 2014.All this is due to the devaluation of the ruble and the contraction of the Russian labor market.
Earlier it was reported that the citizens of Russia over the past five years have become more positive attitude towards immigrants. According to a recent survey by VTSIOM, the population supports the entry of young and educated Russian-speaking citizens of other countries.
