OREANDA-NEWS  Scanners to scan rail wagons, able to determine the type of cargo and its weight, will be installed at the approaches to the Crimean bridge, told on Monday the Director of production company "Scantronic systems" Sergey Simocko.

"Russia's first inspection and inspection complex for the control of railway wagons put into operation in 2018 at the checkpoint Zabaikalsk (on the border with China). Two railway inspection and inspection complexes are being built to ensure transport security on the approaches to the Crimean bridge," he said.

According to him, inspection is carried out during movement of structure along the scanner placed on a railway track. The scanning time of the train depends on the speed of its movement and the number of wagons included in it.

Inspection and inspection systems for the control of railway wagons created by the Russian company "Scantronic systems" on the basis of scientific developments of the Laboratory of electronic accelerators of Moscow state University.

In turn, the chief researcher of the Institute of nuclear physics of Moscow state University, General Director of the Laboratory of electronic accelerators of Moscow state University Vasily Shvedunov told that the railway inspection and inspection complexes use a unique linear accelerator that allows you to control the inspected objects at speeds up to 70 kilometers per hour. The scanner is able to carry out high-quality recognition of materials by the effective atomic number, as well as to estimate the weight of the load with an error of not more than 10 percent.

He said that to date, the laboratory of electronic accelerators of MSU has supplied customers with more than 30 accelerators.

"The development of linear electron accelerators for inspection and inspection complexes was started by us on the initiative of the management of the company "Scantronic systems", which had extensive experience in the placement and operation of foreign complexes, even before the creation of the laboratory and before the sanctions. Life has shown that it was the right decision. The emergence of sanctions contributed to the increase in the number of orders for the development and supply of various types of accelerators," Shvedunov added.

The laboratory of electronic accelerators of Moscow state University is a joint venture of Lomonosov Moscow state University and the Russian company "Scantronic systems", established in 2013 on the basis of the Department of electromagnetic processes and interaction of atomic nuclei of the Institute of nuclear physics at the initiative of the Institute.

The laboratory develops and manufactures linear electron accelerators and split microtrons in the interests of medicine, security systems, flaw detection, radiation technologies in industry and agriculture, basic research.
