OREANDA-NEWS. The State Duma of the Russian Federation has just adopted in the first reading a bill that toughens punishment for hooliganism with the use of weapons, as well as items that can be used as weapons. As stated in the explanatory note to the draft law, threats or the use of violence with the use of weapons is a greater public danger than the same actions without weapons, therefore, the responsibility for such violations should be more serious. The initiator of the bill was a deputy from the United Russia party Dmitry Vyatkin.

It is explained that the draft law envisages changes to the article "Hooliganism" 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In particular, the phrase from the law "with the use of weapons" will be transferred from part 1 of this article to part 2, which also refers to the commission of a crime by a group of persons and resistance to representatives of the authorities.

Violations of this law will be punished with a fine of 500 thousand to 1 million rubles, or in the amount of the convicted person's income for a period of 3 to 4 years. In addition, a person convicted under this article can be punished with forced labor for up to 5 years or up to 7 years in prison.
