OREANDA-NEWS. The bill on partnership of Ukraine and USA in the field of security was developed by a cross-party group of US senators. It provides for the allocation of an annual multimillion-dollar financial assistance to Kiev to protect against aggression from Russia and to advance the path of reform. This is stated in a message published on Wednesday, March 18, on the website of one of the authors of the bill – Democratic Senator from Connecticut Chris Murphy.

The document provides for the provision of lethal weapons and the allocation of $ 304 million in military assistance to Ukraine annually, 4 of which will be directed to the training and training of Ukrainian servicemen.

According to Murphy, Ukraine «is a living example for testing the ability of the United States to support fragile democracies exposed to internal and external hostile forces». In turn, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Bob Menendez, who also took part in the development of the bill, stressed that the document will help Ukraine «defend itself from Russian aggression and will promote American values and priorities in foreign policy».
