OREANDA-NEWS. Evgeny Grabchak, the Director of the Department of Operational Control and Management in the Electric Power Industry of the Ministry of Energy who won the competition “Leaders of Russia” was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister.

In his new position, he will coordinate the powers of the Ministry of Energy on technical regulation, industrial safety, power engineering, emergency situations and civil defense in the fuel and energy sector. In addition, Grabchak will receive powers in the electric power industry, including those which are related to investment programs and ensuring the reliability of electric power facilities.

Grabchak is 38 years old. He is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. In 2005–2009, he worked in consulting and infrastructure companies, and in 2009–2010, he was employed in JSC “Mezhregionalnaya Raspredelitelnaya Setevaya Kompaniya Tsentra” (Interregional Distribution Net Company of the Center). After that, he transferred to the state corporation engaging in the construction of Olympic units in Sochi, and worked in it until 2013.

In 2013, he became the Deputy Director of the Department of Operational Control and Management in the Electric Power Industry of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, and a year later he headed the department. Grabchak is one of the winners of the competition “Leaders of Russia” held in 2018–2019. Among the deputy ministers there is already a winner of this competition, Pavel Sorokin, he oversees oil and gas.
