In August 2018, Thunberg went to the Swedish parliament with the demand to pay attention to the problem of global warming and implement the Paris Agreement. Later, she began to hold protests on Fridays and called on everyone to follow her example. Other activists joined Thunberg, and her action “Friday for Future” became the movement of the same name.In September, Thunberg spoke at the UN summit on combating climate change. She accused the leaders of countries of inaction, saying that they are interested only in economic growth, while humanity is “in the beginning of mass extinction.”
