OREANDA-NEWS. Turkish authorities have decided to abandon the purchase of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus of a new type. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Turkey, Fahrettin Koca, whose words are quoted by the newspaper Haberturk on December 8.

The politician recalled that Russian drug is an adenovirus vaccine. “The problem arose due to compliance with good laboratory practice. Russia could not comply with it,” the head of the Turkish Ministry of Health explained. “This is the reason why the World Health Organization… cannot purchase this vaccine,” he added. According to Koca, in Turkey “this vaccine also failed to obtain a license.” “For this reason, it went beyond our interests,” the Minister resumed.

Earlier, the refusal to use the Russian vaccine was announced by the European Union.

At the same time, Israel, Hungary and number of other countries have already expressed their interest in the Russian vaccine Sputnik V.
