Two Migrants were Detained in the Moscow Region in the Case of the Rape and Murder of a Retired Woman
OREANDA-NEWS. Two foreign citizens suspected of the murder and rape of a 67-year-old woman were detained in the Moscow region, the local IC reported on it's website on Monday evening, September 13. The report says that «two citizens of one of the neighboring states born in 1988 and 1984» are suspected of the murder and rape. According to the head of the administration of Sergiev Posad, Mikhail Tokarev, the detainees are citizens of Tajikistan.
According to the investigation, on the eve of the forest belt the body of a retired woman with signs of violent death was found. This woman disappeared when she went to the forest to collect mushrooms.
The report notes that the investigation will necessarily check «the legality of the presence of suspects on the territory of the Russian Federation», in addition, «a legal assessment will be given to the actions or inaction of officials controlling the order of arrival of foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation». The investigation will also check the media information about the alleged involvement of suspects in the commission of other crimes.
The detention of two migrants was preceded by a popular gathering of local residents in the village of Buzhaninovo in the Sergiev Posad district of the Moscow region. On the evening of September 13, several hundred people gathered near the hostel where migrants working for the «Ekookna» company live. They demanded to punish the perpetrators, liquidate the hostel and deport migrants working at a local enterprise. After a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the audience dispersed.
