OREANDA-NEWS Ukraine was able to provide alternative diesel supplies by replacing imports from Russia. This was announced during a press conference by the representative of the President of Ukraine in the Cabinet of Ministers Andriy Gerus. He specified that the situation will begin to improve in August.

In general, in August, it is expected to reduce diesel imports from Russia by half after the introduction of duties. “In general, the supply of Russian resources in August will decrease by almost half. This is what concerns pipeline transport - it will be reduced from 200 to somewhere around 100 thousand tons,” Gerus said.

On August 1, Ukraine introduced special duties on the import of liquefied natural gas and diesel fuel from Russia. Initially, the diesel fuel fee will be charged at 3.75 percent, and from October 1 - 4 percent, for liquefied gas - 1.75 and 3 percent, respectively.
