OREANDA-NEWS. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zahorodniuk reported that the Armed Forces lost their stronghold as a result of the offensive of the troops of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic.

“The fight ended yesterday, the situation is under control. There is no reason to panic. There was a breakthrough attempt that failed. We do not know what their goal is. Of course, this is a provocation,” Zahorodniuk said. “This is a temporary exacerbation, the situation is threatening. There are four wounded and one dead,” he added. The Minister also mentioned that the head of the Armed Forces General Staff Ruslan Khomchak is at the scene.

In addition, Zahorodniuk ruled out that the aggravation on the front will affect the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Four countries (Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany) and stated that the Minsk Agreements have no alternative.
