OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraine has stopped the supply of water to the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) from the Zapadnaya filter station. This was reported by RIA Novosti news agency referring to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the LPR.

The Petrovskaya pumping station and the Zapadnaya filter station are the only sources of water supply for the LPR remaining on the territory controlled by Kiev. The LPR residents receive the rest of the water autonomously from Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the supply of water in the cities and towns controlled by the LPR: Stakhanov, Kirovsk, Bryanka, Perevalsk, Alchevsk, Zorinsk, Artemovsk, Slavyanoserbsk and Pervomaisk, has been reduced. “The shortage of water in the above-mentioned settlements will be no more than 70 %,” the representative of the Ministry reported.
