OREANDA-NEWS. Reuters agency reported that the US Department of Defense approved the sending of 3,000 US servicemen to the Middle East.

According to CNBC News channel, citing three US military officials, American Armed Forces will send about 3,500 additional soldiers to the Middle East after Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was killed at the airport in Iraqi capital Baghdad.

CNBC News informs that the troops will be deployed in Iraq, Kuwait and other countries of the Middle East. It is noted that the deployment of the brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division, 700 of members of which have already been sent to the region, will be a response to threats throughout the region. At the same time, representatives of the Pentagon said that additional forces are not a direct response to the death of Soleimani, which caused dissatisfaction of the Iranian authorities.
