OREANDA-NEWS. The World Health Organization (WHO) has registered about 100 cases of transmission of the new coronavirus COVID19 from human to human, most of them on the Diamond Princess ship. This was reported by Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

According to him, there are currently 92 cases of COVID19 transmission from human to human in 12 countries beside China. However, Ghebreyesus noted that the WHO has no enough data on cases outside of China to conduct a comparative assessment of the severity of the disease or the mortality rate. He said that the organization is monitoring the situation together with the states where the cases were registered in order to better understand the development of each case of the disease.

At the same time, the WHO has not yet registered a steady human-to-human transmission of the virus, with the exception of people infected on the Diamond Princess cruise ship. The WHO emphasizes that most of them have a light form of COVID19, and the majority of passengers are healthy.
