OREANDA-NEWS. The World Health Organization (WHO) expects that Russia will comply with all standards in preparation for the production and use of the vaccine against coronavirus of a new type. This was stated by WHO representative Christian Lindmeier at a briefing on August 4.

“…Between finding or having a clue of maybe having a vaccine that works, and having gone through all the stages, is a big difference,” he said. Lindmeier stressed the need to conduct thorough testing of any medicine and comply with all requirements for their safe use.

On August 3, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriyev, announced that the vaccine against coronavirus infection should be registered in Russia within 10 days. He noted that the Ministry of Health will follow all the necessary procedures. If the date is met, the Russian drug will become the world’s first registered vaccine for this disease, the chief of the Fund added.
