OREANDA-NEWS. At a briefing on the development of a pandemic in the world, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged to give up alcohol and tobacco and play sports to successfully confront coronavirus infection.

He noted that nowadays it is very important to continue to take care of physical and mental health. At first, he recommended to eat nutritious and healthy foods that help immune system function properly. Secondly, people should give up alcohol and avoid sugary drinks, Ghebreyesus continued. The head of the WHO considers smoking cessation to be the third necessary measure. Fourth, he advised adults to do physical exercise for at least 30 minutes a day (an hour a day for children). Walk for an hour every day, but keep your distance from other people, Ghebreyesus said.
