The organization is currently working closely with scientists around the world to better understand any changes in the virus, as well as how these changes affect its ability to spread and cause disease in people, the head of WHO said during a briefing in Geneva. He urged countries to promptly share epidemiological information and information on new strains of coronavirus with WHO and other states.

In addition, during his speech, Adhanom Ghebreyesus noted that the effective cooperation between the private and public sectors took place during the pandemic.
