OREANDA-NEWSThe revenue of the X5 Retail Group retailer (including Perekrestok, Pyaterochka, Karusel) in January-March 2020 increased by 15.9% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 468.5 billion rubles. This was said in a statement.

Comparable sales (LFL) in the I quarter grew by 5.7%, the average check - by 1.9%, traffic increased by 3.7%. In January-February, the growth of LFL sales was mainly due to the growth of LFL traffic, while "in March, the growth of the average LFL check became the main driver in the context of the changed purchasing behavior due to the spread of COVID-19". In March, the average check was much higher, while the number of visits to stores was lower due to restrictions on movement.

At the same time, the revenue of the Pyaterochka network for the reporting period increased by 17.4%, to 370 billion rubles, and the revenue of Perekrestok - by 21.3%, to 80.6 billion rubles. The revenue of Karusel hypermarkets decreased by 18.8%, to 17.8 billion rubles, due to the closure of 16 hypermarkets and the transfer of two Perekrestok stores in accordance with the format transformation strategy.
