OREANDA-NEWS The Chinese company Huawei, together with the Russian Internet company Yandex, are working on the creation of a map service, China Daily reports citing sources. It will be called the Map Kit if nothing changes in the next couple of months.

According to the source of the publication, the Map Kit service will not be available directly to consumers: instead, the company will offer its best practices to developers who can create applications that use its capabilities.

The partners of Huawei in the development of the Map Kit will be the Russian Yandex and the American travel site Booking Holdings. The service is planned to be connected to various local cartographic services, as well as translated into 40 languages in 150 countries of the world.

Huawei will be able to use its telecommunications base stations in several countries to complement satellite positioning for its mapping service.

Map Kit will offer a highly developed navigation system that will be able to recognize in real time when the car is being rebuilt between lanes, and also supports AR-mapping.
