OREANDA-NEWS. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing that Poland is engaged in the destruction of relations with the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports.

“Just the destruction of bilateral relations without fixing de jure, de facto. Such statements can only be explained by overwhelming Russophobia and long-standing problems of our own,” she said, commenting on proposals for the alleged expulsion of the Russian ambassador from Poland.

Earlier, 45 Russian diplomats left Poland, on the expulsion of which Poland had previously insisted. According to the website of the Russian embassy, it employs just over 50 people.

The Russian ambassador to Warsaw, Sergei Andreev, himself noted that, according to him, the current situation between the two countries could lead to the mutual closure of embassies with Poland, although it would not come to a break in relations. The diplomat added that Warsaw had not agreed to the arrival of new diplomats to replace those expelled, which would greatly curtail the opportunities for normal work.
