OREANDA-NEWS. Burson-Marsteller, a leading global strategic communications and public relations firm, today announced two new appointments in Indonesia. Reza Setiawan has been named Director, Brand Communications and Muhamad Heikal has been named Associate Director, Public Affairs. Both Setiawan and Heikal are based in Jakarta and report to Allison Lim, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific.

Setiawan brings to Burson-Marsteller more than 15 years of experience working with a wide spectrum of brands across in-house and agency roles. Leading the Brand Communications Practice, he will leverage his strong understanding of integrated communications to expand the portfolio of consumer and lifestyle brands within Indonesia and provide support across the region. Setiawan joined Burson-Marsteller from Asiana Group where he was Marketing Communications Director, managing the group’s diversified business communications and marketing campaigns. Before that, he led brand and project management at Edelman Indonesia, Pulse Communications, Accor Hospitality and Citibank, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies from Boston University, United States.

In his new role, Heikal will support the growth of the Public Affairs Practice in Indonesia, leveraging his wealth of experience in regulatory analysis, stakeholder mapping and reputation building. Having previously worked at Burson-Marsteller in 2013, Heikal returns to the firm from Asia Group Advisors where he led multiple accounts in the public affairs sector. Before that, he was Manager of Corporate and External Communications at PT. HM Sampoerna Tbk, responsible for formulating strategic corporate communications programs to support all business lines. Heikal started his career as a Diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and also spent time at APCO Worldwide and Edelman. He holds a Master of Professional Communications from the University of Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Parahyangan, Indonesia.
