OREANDA-NEWS. A mom of four from the US state of Colorado won $ 1 million in the COVID Vaccine Lottery. It is specified that the winning woman is raising 4 children, she is a housewife.

In May, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced a lottery in which five vaccinated residents of the state will be able to win a million dollars. The money will come from federal funds allocated to the state to increase vaccination coverage.

"Governor Polis also announced the fifth and final $ 1 million holder. Heidi Russell of Aurora is the last Colorado resident to win $ 1 million for the vaccination," the state governor said on the official website.

"This prize will be very helpful in raising four children ... But I also hope that with this money I will help others," Russell said on CBS.

Other family members also expect to be able to profitably spend a portion of the winnings. So, according to Russell, one of her daughters plans that the funds received will go to pay for her college studies.

In total, five million dollar prizes were awarded in Colorado, as well as five grants of $ 50,000 for training among vaccinated aged 12 to 17 years.

There are such lotteries in other states as well. Thus, California offered the largest prize of $ 1.5 million.

In Moscow, cars are raffled among those vaccinated.

As the media wrote, the State Duma of the Russian Federation proposed to provide the vaccinated with additional days to leave.
