OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria Alexander Shcherba was deeply outraged because of an article in the Austrian newspaper Der Standard, in which the conflict in Donbass was called a "civil war."

The ambassador tweeted, posting a screenshot of the newspaper's material: "Dear Der Standard, will sometime come the time for an honest discussion about what you call" civil war "or is there only one point of view allowed?"

This was done after an article titled "Ukraine wants to join NATO, civil war breaks out again" in Der Standard on Tuesday. The words about the "civil war" in Donbass are cited as a quote from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The newspaper read: "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine's joining the NATO military alliance would be" the only way to end the civil war in Donbass. "

Earlier, Zelensky said that the North Atlantic Alliance is the only way to end the conflict in Donbass. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov noted that Ukraine's accession to NATO will aggravate internal Ukrainian problems; for residents of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass, such membership is "a deeply unacceptable prospect."
