OREANDA-NEWS. As a partner of Masaryk University, IBA CZ organized and conducted a series of lectures on modern tools of software development for future developers at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic.

At the first evening, IBA CZ introduced Unity 3D, a ready–to–use game engine that makes it possible to create an entertaining game quickly and easily with a minimum of programming.

The second Nerd Evening was held under the sign of Vue.js. An attractive alternative to the current web applications, Vue.js stands out for its simplicity, an effective model of one–way / two–way data binding, and a component approach. It is a library suitable for small projects. It can also be used for growing or large–scale projects because of the plugins that can be easily integrated with the existing solutions.

At the third lecture, we presented the Akka system, a new solution for parallel processing designed specifically for up–to–date processors. Compared to the existing solutions, it is more secure and efficient.

During the fourth night, we spoke on the entire variety of cutting edge technologies, including the frontend Polymer, Akka and Play2 that provide REST services, and Redis and Mongo for data storage. For each framework, IBA CZ explained how to use each of these frameworks, how they work, and presented alternative options.

The final part of the spring series of Nerd Evenings was devoted to WebSockets for creation of realtime interactive applications. We analyzed the benefits of WebSockets and their support in today's world of application servers and Java frameworks.
