OREANDA-NEWS. Dell today announced that it has been positioned as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Identity Management And Governance, Q2 2016, for the evaluation of its Dell One Identity Manager solution. In its 17-criteria evaluation of identity management and governance providers, Forrester Research, Inc. identified the nine most significant providers, and researched, analyzed and scored them. In this evaluation, Dell’s top scores were in the criteria of:

  • administration
  • development, sales, and technical support staffing
  • global presence
  • IMG partner ecosystem
  • IMG pricing terms and flexibility.

The identity management and access governance solution also scored a four out of five in the criteria of:

  • role management
  • overall solution complexity
  • IMG strategy and vision
  • IMG implementation complexity
  • customer satisfaction.

According to Forrester Research, "This market is growing because security professionals use these solutions to address key identity-related risks and streamline operational efficiencies by migrating away from existing inaccurate, manual, and inefficient identity processes. … As this market continues to mature, improved end user interfaces, simplified and flexible administration, and broader identity analytics will dictate which providers lead the pack."

Dell One Identity Manager enables compliance through access control and segregation of duties, complete visibility, and control that’s driven by identity intelligence and business objectives. The scalable, modular and integrated solution offers a common web user interface to administer all of its core functionality, and Forrester’s evaluation found "the Dell administrative portal was intuitive and less complex than other solutions evaluated in this Forrester Wave." The Dell One Identity Manager automated architecture enables organizations to simplify major identity and access management tasks in a fraction of the time or expense of traditional framework solutions, and also facilitates better security decisions so organizations can control user and privileged access, govern identities, secure data, and reduce information silos and risk exposure.

Dell recognizes two main contributors to the Dell One Identity Manager solution achieving a Leader position in the Forrester Wave™: the simplicity of implementation, and the company’s high level of technical support, both of which provide customers with ease of use and quick assistance if they need it.

The Forrester Wave™ results noted that "reference customers universally singled out Dell’s support and service responsiveness." Dell’s extensive partner ecosystem ? with implementation partners across North America, EMEA and APJ, along with numerous other sales and technology partners ? resulted in its highest score possible in the criterion of IMG partner ecosystem. The report found that Dell has strong global IMG coverage, noting, "The EMEA heritage of Dell’s IMG solution (based on the acquisition of Voelcker Informatik) has given Dell a strong and diverse global customer base and partner ecosystem."

The Forrester Wave™ scores were based on Dell One Identity Manager 7.0, the solution’s most current version. Plans for future editions include:

  • Extension of data access governance to include support for cloud storage applications
  • Addition of behavioral analytics capabilities
  • Native mobile applications for request and approval supporting major platforms such as iOS, Android and Windows
