OREANDA-NEWSThe Chinese government and army have never participated in cyber attacks and theft of trade secrets over the Internet. This was announced on Tuesday at a briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Geng Shuang.

"The Chinese government’s position on cybersecurity is consistent and clear. We have always strongly opposed all forms of cyber attacks and fought them legally", he said. "China is a strong advocate of cybersecurity, the Chinese government and the army and people associated with them have never participated and do not participate in the theft of trade secrets via the Internet", the diplomat emphasized.

As Geng Shuang pointed out, "It has long been known that the United States violates the principles of international law and key norms of international relations, and engages in large-scale organized cyber attacks and espionage against foreign governments, enterprises and individuals".

In September 2017, Equifax reported that it was subjected to a cyber attack. Attackers gained access to the data of approximately 145 million customers. Hackers became aware of their names, insurance numbers, dates of birth, addresses and driver's license numbers. They were also able to access credit card numbers of about 209 thousand people.
