OREANDA-NEWS Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin commented on US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's statement about China's "serious challenge to the international order". It is reported by RIA Novosti.

"The American side has said that China is the most serious long-term challenge to the world order, this is a distortion of the truth, China has always been, is and will be the defender of the international order," he said.

Wang Wenbin added that Blinken is inflating the "Chinese threat" to denigrate the country's domestic and foreign policy and hold back its development.

The day before, the US Secretary of State said that the country's authorities see China as "the most serious long-term challenge." According to him, China intends to change the international order and the growing economic, diplomatic, military and technological power.

Earlier, the armed forces of the People's Republic of China (PRC) staged military exercises in the waters near the island of Taiwan as a "serious warning" to the United States.

According to Shi Yi, various types of Chinese troops were involved in the exercise. The exercise was organized to warn Taiwan and the United States against the backdrop of their joint actions, the PLA spokesman concluded.

Details of the exercises involving China and the number of military equipment involved are not given.

Prior to this, it became known that the Chinese Armed Forces held military exercises in the waters east and southwest of Taiwan. The purpose of the exercises is to test and increase combat readiness.

Blinken also announced that China House will appear in the US State Department, a structure responsible for coordinating and implementing policy on China and other East Asian countries.
