OREANDA-NEWS. The number of people in China infected with the new coronavirus on Tuesday reached 4515. This was reported by the Chinese News Agency with reference to the Chinese authorities.

Earlier, the Wangyi information portal, citing official data from Chinese regions, reported 4477 infected. The number of deaths was 106. According to another news agency, over the past 24 days in Hubei province another 24 patients died. A total of 1,291 new infections were reported there.

The largest number of infected and dead from coronavirus, according to media reports, occurs in Hubei Province (2714 and 47, respectively) and its administrative center is Wuhan (1590 and 42). In Beijing, 80 were detected (one fatal case was recorded), and 21 cases were registered in one of the Heilongjiang provinces bordering Russia (one fatal case).

On December 31, authorities in the Chinese city of Wuhan reported the spread of an unknown type of pneumonia. At that time, 27 cases of the disease were recorded. Most of them are associated with the city's seafood market, which is now closed.
