OREANDA-NEWS. Advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak announced the dismissal of the press secretary of the Ukrainian leader Yulia Mendel. This was reported on April 30 by the Internet edition "Babel".

Earlier, the Ukrainian media have repeatedly written about the possible dismissal of Mendel from the position of Zelensky's press secretary.

"Advisor to the head of the presidential office, Mikhail Podolyak, in a commentary to Babel, confirmed the dismissal of Yulia Mendel from the post of press secretary of Vladimir Zelensky," the publication said in a Telegram channel.

According to the adviser, Yulia Mendel will continue to act as Zelensky's press secretary "until the completion of the processes of reorganizing the communication work of the president's office."

Mendel took over as Zelenskiy's press secretary following his presidential victory. After a series of scandals related to her, the journalistic community demanded her dismissal. For example, earlier, the journalist of the Scheme program, Mikhail Tkach, said that Mendel prevented journalist Sergei Andrushko from asking a question to Zelensky, as if she was nudging the journalist with her elbows. In turn, Mendel said that she "stopped" the media employee, as he violated the "personal space" of the president. The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine called on the president's office to reconsider its attitude towards media workers after this situation.
