OREANDA-NEWS Netflix streaming service will not broadcast 20 Russian federal TV channels, the broadcasting of which has become mandatory in Russia since March 1. The company made this decision because of the situation in Ukraine. A representative of Netflix told Variety magazine about this. "Given the current situation, we do not plan to add these channels to our service," he said.

On December 28, 2021, Roskomnadzor added Netflix to its register of audiovisual services. The company was the first to be included in this list. The service is obliged to broadcast 20 federal channels from March 2022 due to the entry into force of amendments to the law "On Information".

Instagram Facebook and social media company Meta also announced that it will restrict access to Russian state media RT and Sputnik throughout the European Union. This was announced by Meta Vice President Nick Clegg on Twitter.

The restrictions have already been confirmed in RT. Facebook has closed Russian, English and Spanish pages of the TV channel in a number of European countries.

Previously, the American film studio Warner Bros. canceled the Russian premiere of the movie "Batman" because of the "military special operation" in Ukraine. The premiere of the blockbuster starring Robert Pattinson was scheduled to take place on March 2. Sony Pictures and Disney studios have joined the restrictions on the rental of paintings.
