OREANDA-NEWS. Poland will accept the wounded Ukrainian soldiers in the event of a war between Russia and Ukraine. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki following the European Council summit in Brussels, RIA Novosti reports.

The politician expressed the opinion that if the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict does start, it will not end quickly, no matter how much Eastern Europe would like it to be.

“Therefore, we are trying to strengthen our army as soon as possible, and on our Polish-Ukrainian border to prepare opportunities also for the worst scenarios: the evacuation of a large number of citizens from Ukraine, the reception of citizens, and even the treatment of the wounded,” Morawiecki said.

Morawiecki also said that Europe is preparing powerful anti-Russian sanctions that will be imposed against the Russian Federation in the event of its “attack” on Ukrainian territories.

Since the autumn of last year, the Western media, as well as in Ukraine, have been claiming that Russia is allegedly preparing a “large-scale invasion” of Ukraine. In Moscow, such allegations have been repeatedly rejected.
