OREANDA-NEWS. On Monday, the Russian Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany reacted to the statements and comments of the journalist from the German newspaper, who criticized his colleagues from the German television company ARD for congratulating Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on his 70th birthday. In particular, he called the actions of the ARD staff "an inconceivable scandal."

"Dear Julian Röpke! There is no reason to be nervous. If you would like to receive a copy of the photo album for Lavrov’s anniversary, just contact our embassy. We will be happy to examine whether it is possible to get another one specially for you. But unfortunately, it will be difficult with dedication", noted with irony in the Russian diplomatic mission.

Earlier, the Moscow branch of the German media posted on its Twitter a congratulation to Lavrov on his 70th birthday, which the Foreign Minister noted on Saturday, March 21.Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Sunday recalled that Lavrov has statements that could comment on Röpke’s article.
