OREANDA-NEWS. Journalists, lawyers, cultural and public figures addressed an open letter to the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service Alexander Kalashnikov, General Prosecutor Igor Krasnov and Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova because of the conditions of detention of Alexei Navalny in a colony. The appeal was signed by more than 150 people, according to «MBH Media», including the editors-in-chief of «Novaya Gazeta», «The New Times», «Mediazona», and «Dozhd», as well as directors Andrey Zvyagintsev, Vitaly Mansky, Harry Bardin, writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya and others.

«We ask you and demand, that you take all measures to create normal conditions for Alexei Navalny, that do not threaten his health and life in the colony, as well as to ensure legal and timely access to him by his lawyers. According to Russian law, lawyers have the right to freely visit their clients. On what basis are Navalny's lawyers forced to wait four hours for a meeting with their client? Why are they not allowed to see their client, whose health is a concern?» it is said in the letter, that is in the possession of the Russian media «Dozhd».

Navalny's lawyer Olga Mikhailova said, that the defenders of the politician on March 25 again failed to get into the colony. According to Mikhailova, the lawyers have been waiting in the car for three hours in front of the entrance.
