OREANDA-NEWS. The losses of the Russian economy in 2019 from the actions of cyber fraudsters amounted to about 2.5 trillion rubles (about 40 billion US dollars).

This was reported by Stanislav Kuznetsov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank. As for 2020, he estimated possible damage from cyber attacks at 3.5–3.6 trillion rubles (more than 57 billion dollars). “The losses of the Russian economy from cyber attacks will grow,” Kuznetsov said at a press conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He noted that cyber security risks are one of the most significant nowadays.

Earlier, Kuznetsov announced that Sberbank was proposing the creation of uniform rules for responding to cyber attacks. He added that the lack of obligatory rules helps criminals in their illegal activities.
