OREANDA-NEWS. The consideration of the claim of the Ministry of Justice on the liquidation of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, was postponed to August 27 due to the fact that the journalistic organization appealed the warning of the Ministry of Justice about it's liquidation, which formally became the reason for a possible closure. The Belarusian Association of Journalists published a message about this on Wednesday, August 11, in it's Telegram channel.

The process of appealing the warning of the Ministry of Justice will be held in the Supreme Court of Belarus on August 23, and four days after that, the court will consider the claim for the liquidation of the BAJ.

The Belarusian Association of Journalists strongly disagrees with the claims of the Ministry of Justice and recalls that the warning was made after a search took place in the BAJ office, after which the premises were closed and thereby deprived the organization of access to the statutory documents, seals and lease agreements specified in the warning. «We don't even know what was taken out of the BAJ office», the association emphasizes.

It should be recalled that on July 14-15, employees of a number of non-governmental organizations and non-state media were searched in Belarus. The Investigative Committee of the country explained this by their «involvement in shadow cash flows and non-payment of taxes».
