OREANDA-NEWS. Russia is conducting an operation to liberate Ukraine from "Nazi, fascist, anti-Russian and anti-Ukrainian bastards," Sergey Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council committee on international affairs, told Gazeta.Ru.

“Upon completion of the operation, peace will come to the land of Ukraine, and Russia will receive maximum security from this side, because the threat from the Ukrainian side was serious. As for the current government of Ukraine, it will itself resign, like the country's supreme council, after a certain time. I think that a new leadership of Ukraine will be formed - already popular and pro-Ukrainian, not pro-American. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, on the other hand, can very quickly go into oblivion, because he made so many mistakes. He had such a good chance to stop the war in the Donbass, and he went on about the Nazis,” the senator said.

From Tsekov's point of view, the nationalist forces in Ukraine have intimidated not only the Ukrainian president, but the entire country as a whole. As an example, the senator cited cases of attacks by radicals on people who had a different opinion on certain issues.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR. Subsequently, Kiev severed diplomatic relations with Moscow, and also introduced martial law on the territory of the republic.
